Make Sure Everyone at Work is Clear About the Task Requirements: Many times, we are required to work together as a team to complete a task. Before starting any job, it’s important that everyone involved is clear on the job requirements. This includes how the job can be done safely, any known hazards that could cause injury and how to protect yourself accordingly. Please remember that the more “tools” in our communication toolbox, the greater our capacity is to communicate effectively. The next time you discuss task requirements with a co-worker, make sure you’re tuned into what they are saying. Establish eye contact, and interact in the discussion. You can also confirm your comprehension by providing feedback and summarizing your chat at the end of your discussion.
